* Day 1- Arrive in Palermo
On arrival at the airport a private limousine transfers you to beautiful Villa Igiea. Jr. Suite Seaview.
* Day 2- Palermo
This day is dedicated to discovering Palermo , a city that lies on a natural amphitheater, with the Pellegrino hill on the West and the gulf on the East. The town has incredible characteristics; not just for its location but also for its atmosphere of both Arabian and Norman styles with its splendid boulevards and elegant buildings. The crowded streets of the Vucciria market impress the visitor with stalls that straggle along the colorful alleys from Via Roma to San Domenico, a baroque church with an impressive façade. These colorful alleys display capers, pine nuts, spices, sundried tomatoes, skewered meats. As night falls, the red illuminated awnings make this city a very unforgettable visit. You will have a private visit of the Convento of the Cappuccini and its grim catacombs, where in macabre Sicilian style, the corpses of important people were mummified from the 16th century to 1881. * Day 3- Palermo-Cefalu-Monreale
Your driver will take you to the small city of Cefalù not too far from Palermo . Built over a hill with a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea , Cefalu has conserved the ancient atmosphere around the Norman Cathedral built by Ruggero the II. In the small streets of the historical center, you will visit the palaces decorated in aristocratic style near incredible examples of mediaeval churches. The tour will proceed to the other part of the city, the very lively Borgo Marinaro, where you will feel the real atmosphere of Cefalù, with its old houses built along the sea.In the afternoon you will visit Monreale to admire the imposing Norman Cathedral, founded in 1172 by Guglielmo II. * Day 4- Palermo-Segesta-Selinunte
Today’s itinerary will take you back in history. You will go north of Palermo to the most charming location in Sicily , Segesta , a fantastic complex of Greek ruins. In the summer Greek dramas are performed in the Grecian theatre with its atmosphere of poetic desolation. Afterwards, you will visit another complex of ruins in Selinunte, a town founded by the Trojans escaping their war with the Greeks. This Southwest part of the Island has a spectacular view of the Mediterranean . Upon your return, you will continue the visit of the fantastic Palermo . `Car/driver available 24 hrs.
* Day 5- Transfer to Ragusa . Stop in the Valley of the Temples
Today’s panoramic itinerary will cross Sicily to Agrigento , a city set in a spectacular location between the hills and the Mediterranean sea , and will visit the Valley of the Temples . These ruins are the most imposing example of Grecian temples, including the famous Temple of Concord , outside Greece , dating from the 5th century BC, and which take you back to the ancient world. You will check into the exclusive Grand Suite of the Eremo Della Giubiliana. After a rest, you will visit Ragusa and its old part of town, Ilbia, built in Baroque style and recreated on a mediaeval street plan, with its secret shrines, family crests and baroque fountains. * Day 6- Ragusa-Siracusa-Noto
This morning you will discover the city of Archimedes : Siracusa, which once was one of the most beautiful towns of the ancient Greek world. You will be enchanted by the atmosphere, sounds and colors of this city situated in front of a turquoise sea. You will discover the oldest part of town, rich with historical monuments and incredible charm. In the afternoon on your way back, you will stop in Noto with its most important examples of Baroque style and imposing buildings, including the Cathedral. * Day 7- Ragusa-Piazza Armerina
Today you will take a beautiful drive to discover the real Sicily , the island loved by the ancient Greek people. You will visit Piazza Armerina, a small village where time has stopped and the atmosphere is magical. *Day 8- Transfer to Taormina
Today’s drive to Taormina will explore the part of the island washed from the Ionian Sea , the part closer to the Italian peninsula. * Day 9- Taormina-Etna National Park
Today will visit the Etna National Park . The first stop will be the beautiful gorge discovered in 1950 in the Alcantara Valley . Then ascending to Etna you will visit the small village of Zafferana Etnea . This area is surrounded by fertile slopes, where patient farmers for centuries cultivate the vineyards to produce the fantastic Sicilian wines, Etna red and Etna white. Upon your ascension, you will admire the black desolate scenery of the Volcano. In this strange location you will feel the breath of the earth, a unique experience. Car driver available 24 hrs.
* Day 10- Taormina-Departure
